Days 11 - 15 [first bout with] COVID - It's always somethin'
July 17 - 21
Came down with symptoms last night. I thought maybe it was allergies since I just got my booster 10 days before the trip. Benadryl didn't even make a dent--bad sign. Normally it knocks me out, but no chance this time.
Roger went to the store and got tests and guess what?! Yup. Positive.
Then, Roger went to the office to extend our stay at this park so I don't have to get out of bed. And I didn't. For days. I called my doc in Virginia and she sent a prescription for Paxlovid to the local pharm in LA. Started taking it day one of symptoms and I'm sure that kept me out of the hospital (that and the booster right before the trip).
Next step (or actually concurrent step) was to notify all the people I was around since I got here, to get them to test to make sure I didn't make anyone else sick. As far as we could tell, all were negative. Including Roger. (YAY!)
Had to cancel visiting Arlene, Paul, & Wanda, which broke my heart. But at least I got to visit with Adrienne, Dave, & Mary Francis and even got to see Ted, a dear friend of the family. And met some new friends in Hollywood at Danté's house in "the Hills." I just hope I didn't make anyone else sick.
