Day 29 - Kansas & Missouri to Serenity Valley Winery

STOP 1- Abilene, Kansas

Had breakfast burritos from the mart & microwaved in trailer (love having that inverter)

Charged from 20% to 90% which took 25 mins, and cost $20 One [open] head-in stall

Also bought potatoes, carrots & oranges

STOP 2 - Topeka, Kansas

12:12p Central Time
At a LOVEs mini truck stop
CHarged from 43%to 90% took 20 mins and cost $19.44

No head-in stalls, but since neither of the Electrify America stalls were working, we weren't concerned about blocking them to use the Tesla supercharger.

Had peanut butter & Marc's (apricot?) preserves sandwiches for lunch while charging.

STOP 3 - Concordia, Missouri

There were Tesla Superchargers in a Casey's parking lot.
One Head-in stall and it was available!

250kW (fast) 23% to 90% in 20 minutes and cost $21

STOP 4 - Columbia, MO

Charged from 40% to 90% in 20 minutes

One charger was not working out of
12 stalls, 2 head-ins

Some kind person wrote on chargers with permanent marker. (we appreciated it, actually) There were two head-ins and both had this writing on them.

Roger [ironically] went to get gas
while we charged for generator to use AC tonight.

We're only 20 miles from tonight's stay at the winery, but there will be no hookups.

A CyberTruck charged next to us. Doesn't look as ugly in red.

Serenity Valley Winery

Arrived at the winery early enough for Roger to have a tasting--just barely. They were kind to wait. We could tell the woman wanted to lock up and go home, so we didn't linger.

Perhaps a big event that day? Looks like a great place for company picnics and weddings. Roger said the wines were just "okay." But we bought a bottle of the most "okay" one and a box of crackers.

We were told that the gate was about to be locked for the night and that if we wanted to leave before 8am, we should text the owner and she will come unlock the gate. We asked if we could just have the code, so as to not bother the owner, she said, "She doesn't give out the code." We were essentially locked in. Did not like that. At. All.

We left [just] after 8am and the gate was open, so we didn't think anything of it and were grateful that there were no emergencies where we might have to leave quickly.

NOTE: When we got home, there was a VM from the owner of the winery saying, "You said you were leaving at 10am, if you wanted to leave earlier, you should have stayed somewhere else!" I went back and found my email to her [in January] and I said we would, "...be gone by 10am." So, guess we are banned from future visits? Oh well.

Anyhow, the camping spot was back toward the gate next to the dumpster.

It was level and remote and we made the most of it. Used the Starlink and streamed "Grey's" and had a nice dinner. The views were nice.
