Day 28 - on to Ad Astra!
August 3, 2024
1 head in and no wait
250kW Tesla Supercharger
Superior, CO at a gas station
Charged from 20%to 90% took 25 minutes
We had a Starbucks breakfast
Limon, CO
40 % tp 100% 45 mins cost was $20
(slow but cheap)
Were able to park behind stalls in a dirt lot so no need to disconnect
We went from 11% to 100% took only 27 minutes and only cost $25
No head-in stalls, but it was open on the end so we could do minimal stall blocking
Had a Sonic burger for lunch (it just smelled so good)
Lots of empty stalls
Charged from 5% to 90% (348mi/hr) took 25 minutes
No head-ins, but we came in from side again.
We stayed at Ad Astra that night. A decommissioned nuclear missile silo.
(I know, right?)
Apparently oil was pumped here at one time.
We were able to use the generator to cool off the T.A.R.D.I.S. It really is a quiet one. Turned it off into the night as it cooled down. Love that it has bluetooth, so didn't have to get out of bed to turn it off.
We got there too late to do the tour, but still a very interesting spot. He now has an air B&B there as well.
The spot is surrounded by huge wind turbines, giving a surreal feel to the whole experience.
May come back someday so we can get the tour.
